just got a validation request for the Triptych challenge that ended a week ago... is this common? or does is foreshadow a possible shake up in the top spots?

nevermind, i see that the original 3rd place was DQed [ sorry ;-( ] and i moved from 6th to 5th, so its just the standard procedure.

3rd place was DQ'd (still a nice photo though), you've moved to 5th. Congratulations on your new HM!

I always push my entry to the last minute and because of that I get nervous and change something last minute and forget it breaks a rule! I copy and flipped the middle image last minute because I didn't like her other arm. :( oh well. At least I know everyone thought it was good! That's a ribbon in my mind :) Im learning from this as you can see my "basic editing" forum I posted earlier trying to make sure I break no rules. Ahhhh! But congrats to the new 3rd and 5th place!

Refreshing attitude! Way to learn & move forward! I'm sorry about the DQ, but of course it was inevitable based on what you've just described :-)
