there is a more "classic" silhouette feel, that based upon the smooth orange tone surely caught the hearts and minds of DPC voters.
I looked at both for a while, and I like your entry, but the outtake is a bit more interesting in its presentation, the shepherds hooks, the varied sky- but you are right, the speed voter or the strict voting constructionist may in fact not appreciate the goodness of meaningful clutter induced chaos.
