Shot a local musician this afternoon. He didn't really have any concepts in mind so I played around with some different techniques and some new equipment. I'd love your thoughts :)
Very nicely lit, with a nice variety of feels. One quibble, why did you lop off the top of his head in 4 of the 6?
I crop heads a lot. I like that style and it gives you more detail in the face without losing important information. If the hair is unique or adds to the picture I won't crop it. I do it in-camera...just my thing.

I just tried it, content-aware fill takes care of the stands themselves perfectly, and I don't mind the trace of the heads themselves being visible in the light flare. If YOU do, that part's more of a handwork chore.

Photoshop CS5 and above; you make a selection of an area to patch and then select "fill" from the edit menu and use the content-aware option. Single most outstanding improvement in Photoshop in quite a while.
