I'm not going to enter, but I have been doing a bunch of this stuff lately, all my myself! While these images don't always adhere to the rules, maybe you'll find something inspirational in them. :)

Sheep have a hard time using Photoshop, and are not allowed to become members anyway ... ;-)
I think the two sides are supposed to be mirror images -- that's the point of "symmetry" -- I think editing the two sides differently defeats the purpose of the challenge.

Sure you hear people say "Those guys are just sheep, they just follow along, never thinking for themselves" but I say "What about the black sheep? Bold individuals who stand apart form the flock, free independant thinkers."
Full rights for our ovine brothers! If they can get on the internet why should we bar their becoming members?

I had that question originally too but I didn't get the "why not" brigade. :P lol. I guess for me, the description seemed like maybe the intent was for one image (originally posed as an advanced editing challenge with a special rule set). So I guess it comes down to if you consider 'image' to mean a single exposure or a single composition.

I did have a doubt.
The description for the challenge seems to say that you can take your image, copy it, flip it, & paste it back in after you have increased the canvas size to make room for it, to create a perfectly symmetrical image.
But you can also get a perfectly symmetrical image if you copy it, flip it, paste it back in as a new layer (without increasing the canvas size), & blend on difference.
Both results are symmetrical, but they don't look anything alike. The first is surreal. The second is abstract. The first one creates a duplicate of the image, mirrored. The second creates a whole new image.
As this challenge was my suggestion, I will say that flip and blend certainly wasn't what I had in mind. Whether it is legal or not given that the challenge is under expert editing, I'm not sure.
