I hate waking up to a decent score and see it drop - much prefer the other way around :)

Got your comment thanks Fred - sadly it was of the DNMC variety though appreciate your comment. I still believe it fits the challenge well but others appear to be in your camp now lol).
A reminder: You should not discuss specific images or even a class of images during voting. If you say "Images of XXX don't meet the challenge IMHO" the possible effect at this point is to influence voting, which is against the rules.
We should save discussion of the images, and groups of images until AFTER the challenge. In fact, we don't do enough of that. It's great in the image comments themselves, but it would be good to see a discussion AFTER each challenge ends.

2 comments now telling me I missed the mark with this challenge. I still think it fits, just doesn't shout look, this is money! (am either too subtle for my own good or the comments are correct).
i've given a few "i don't get the connection" comments, but it could be that there's a geographic reference (company, image on currency, etc) that i'm not aware of.
I know with my entry i tried to get something that's "classically money" and that upon viewing you would instantly associate, but i changed to it from my alternate image at 11:30 last night. I'll post the alternate shot once this challenge finishes as it'll give away my actual entry if you saw it now, but i'd like to hear what people have to say about it compared to my entry.
I'm in general agreement with JustFred on points he made, and i've left comments on photos being as descriptive as I can with why i felt that, to me, things didn't meet criteria.
That's the thing with "representating" something - everybody will see it differently and if you're happy with your entry, that's the main thing.
Ryan, whilst I may not agree totally with how Fred and yourself see things I must applaud you both for standing up and being counted (was that a pun??). The site seems to be full of people whining about trolls and the like - the surest way to stop comments on what the voter views as worthy of a low score ('We' also whine too much about too few comments).
OK decided to not be so rigid and use some lateral thinking so I am going through the images again and adjust my scores accordingly.
Haha, you know you were opening a can at the beginning when you stated how you scored, you wouldn't feel the need to readjust if you didn't share earlier. I appreciated the comment you left, but don't feel like you need to change the votes, it's all relative and comes out in the wash in the end.
i'm not saying i'm giving out incredibly low scores (a few, yeah, but generally in the 4-5 range, one 10 so far).
i haven't finished voting yet, but i'm close.
i'm just saying that i see where fred is coming from with regard to the 'dnmc' thinking - i don't get a lot of the stuff and other images are thread-bare connections in that 'money can buy this' but when i see it i don't think of money as the obvious connection.
i tried to be humorous on one particular comment and photochopped a tongue-in-cheek correction into their image, then thumbnail-linked it in my comment, i hope the photographer isn't offended at my touch-up to their shot as it's meant to be a joke ;)
but yeah, if i'm giving out a low score on this, i'm going to tell you why - i think it's only fair and i'd appreciate the same in return on my photos as my primary reason for being on this site is to get feedback to help improve my skill :)
