IIRC, buildings built after around 1991 are copyrighted (!) and photos of them are subject to some of the same restrictions as, say, photocopies of a magazine or a painting. At least in the "Good" "Old" U.S. of A.
Maybe someone else has some more authoritative information.
(Rant: These bloody rotten laws and stuff like model releases sometimes make me wonder if this photography thing isn't even worth the trouble. I've gotten in trouble in subways, Starbucks (yeah, I know, private place, but I was taking pictures of my friends on our once-in-a-lifetime trip!), and even had some outdoor (public!) street performers stop their act and tell me no pictures were allowed. Blech. Still-life photography with fruit and vases sounds like the only relaxing way to take pictures. Sorry, I'm okay now.) |
