It kind of bothered me that voters seemed to focus on figuring out what the subject is, instead of enjoying the abstract image. I mean, check out one of the comments on the brown (undeserved IMO). The comments seem critiical that the image is abstract.
Am I alone on this?
Not unsurprising. I think many people were more focused on the macro element than the abstract. As an unfair generalization, many are more comfortable knowing what an image is, so abstracts tend to fare poor to mediocre with many DPC members.
so it seems I should have used the outtake. live and learn. I figured the outtake was too "blah". I liked the submission... hmm... interesting to see the differences in opinions. :)
well... I got mostly 5s on my entry. a couple ones and threes, lots of 4s... quite a few 6s. But interestingly, someone REALLY liked it... I did receive one 10. :)

I liked it. It's actually going to be hung on the wall. in my office/dining room, I'm going to be printing out my favorites and hang above the computer. More inspiration and a collage of work. :)
