So, I was wondering... and I'm not sure if it's been asked here before. But what if the photographer's name is listed in the EXIF data of a picture that is currently in the voting stage of a challenge?
I'm wondering, simply because I have noticed that many people remove the exif data from their challenge entries, which is something I would like to know how to do (so please advise on that). And also because I have seen other entries with the photographer's name listed in their data. It doesn't matter to me who the photographer is, it's not going to change my vote... just an inquiring mind.
@Giles: As for too much time on my hands... I am randomly looking at the EXIF data of the images I like the most. Not searching for who's picture it is, because I couldn't care less. But because I am looking at the exposure time, ISO, F stop, etc. It's more of a "learning" thing, gives me ideas on how to achieve different looks, or at least try different combinations.

What software are you using for editing? If you are using photoshop or photoshop elements "Save for Web" strips the EXIF.
Some metadata is "stickier" than other metadata. For example, if one embeds a copyright in the metadata, the "Save for web..." utility does not remove the copyright. I think Adobe may have the opinion that if one embeds a copyright, it was meant to stay. And, indeed, I prefer to embed my copyright within all my images. There is no requirement that all metadata be removed. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I do believe that some votes are cast based on discovering exif data authorship information. In a more perfect world, authorship could be known and it would not alter the vote cast.

Personally, I don't vote based on WHO shot the photo... I vote based on the quality.

No problem with your comment. As a footnote, I'll add that if one leaves all metadata intact on one's image, the uploader automatically fills in the blanks on the upload page. While that's not a big deal, it is handy and the data is entered correctly.
