The first word that comes to mind is "interesting", but then again, I use that word a lot. After further study of the photograph, I almost feel like I would like to see a little sharper detail... but then, the softness gives an ambiance that shouldn't be altered. A tighter crop might do it a little more justice, or even a slight tilt-angle.
Was an instant hit with me but I don't know why. I probably would have thought it was a peach rather than an apple but that could be my colour blindness confusing me. I like the simplicity of it. I do find something about the bottom left edge distracting. An interesting photo - thanks for sharing.
It reminded me of my egg on wood photo which did very badly in a challenge haha
I want to revisit this idea, maybe using a mirror or a lighter wood surface. Everyone on 1x has mentioned tighter crops, and that's what I'll probably do in the future. Now that I have an SU-800, these types of images will be much easier to produce.
My personal preference is for conceptual art. This photo is fairly surrealistic I think...a glowing apple (?) on a shiny black surface...looks nice enough. But I don't really know what you're on about beyond that. Should it glow? I don't care, actually... to each their own. A more interesting question is "Is it glowing?"
