I was a 35mm junkie, and Nikon was my camera of choice. I finally gave into digital 4 weeks ago and now I'm hooked, The problem was replacing all my lenses. Much to my surprise I tried one of my manual lenses and by moving all my settings to manual I was able to use my old lenses. The down part is you loose a lot that the D100 has to offer and you need a hand-held light meter to get your readings, but you don't have the expense of buying new lenses. JG

ive used a DSLR with an all manual lens, and interestingly, because of the instant feedback nature of digital, plus the histogram to check your exposure (and not just rely on the screen), it taught me what settings are "in the ballpark" so that i often don't even really need a lightmeter :).

My biggest complaint is that we have to use the sub-dial to change aperture settings. This is soo slow and annoying. I’m glad the D1x allows you to change it on the lens itself. I too am hooked on digital and very happy to have made the switch. My poor N90s must feel lonely. The D100 has handled well in many situations though it usually underexposes by 1/3 stop from TTL meter readings. I even use extension tubes for awesome close-ups w/ the SB-23 flash set to manual.
