See here. The new 24-70 looks nice (more rugged, lighter) but oh my, an 82mm filter thread?? Just Lovely, when so many of us have invested in 77mm. I think I'll be keeping my existing copy.
The two WA primes are a head-scratcher. The 24/2.8 and 28/2.8 primes definitely needed an update, but I'm surprised to see IS on these lenses. That's a lot of cost to add to what should be more economical lens choices. The 4-stop IS does raise the possibility of shooting at over a half second, hand-held which in some situations could be pretty cool.
While I am scared of the price... I am pleased to see some work on non L primes..... The L primes are great but I don't have the $$ to go there (apart from the 135 I got earlier in the year) and would be nice to have an option past the very old design primes on the shorter end.
As to no IS on the 24-70.... That just a WTF to me. I don't understand that at all especially given it will be close to 2 grand what difference would IS make to the price really.
the 16-35 2.8 L ii is 82mm so i guess its swings and round abouts, get the cookin z pro's etc 100mm size which is pretty standard for L so should be ok with them. i might upgrade my 28-70 L now this is out the mark i should come down a little

Jason, even though these are wide angle lenses, the IS is a nice addition for low light candid/street if you don't want to shoot wide open or at the higher ISOs.

Given the 24/2.8 and 28/2.8 updates, I'd think the 35/2 would be somewhere in line. It's another oldie, badly in need of a refresh.
With regard to IS on WA, remember that nothing below about 1/50 is going to get you good results on people, unless you are going for that motion-blurred look, or unless you're shooting murder victims ;-)
The IS will be good for low-light shots where moving subjects are not a concern, or where the motion is expected. 1/2 second hand-held has some serious artistic potential.
Yes, and now you can get to that 1/2 second with a different aperture or ISO. Rather than shooting wide open, you can get a bit more depth of field, retaining some detail in the blur. Nothing better than sharp blur.
Well... The MSRP prices are wandering around the web world.... My my... I suggest you get some latex gloves before you look cause you going to need them :-(
