I have 2 images to choose for just ended shallow DOF. I'm quite lucky the entry image ranked quite high and consider that so many stunning images after me. The image is a bit sharp capture at aperture f25 but other than that, it don't have any story to tell. Thanks all for the comments and vote.

Here is the second image but this image is weak by the use of aperture f32. I am weak at editing and guessing if anyone here willing to try fixing this image to make it better. Thanks in advance.

I think it's missing a bit of frontal lighting, so it's hard to see good details on the bug.

I'd do something like this. But that's cause I've a particular liking for B&W and monotoned bug macros.

Did lots of sharpening around the head area. Lots.

I did a couple versions. I love the Kermit texture on your bud, so I had to try a colored version. But when doing some Highpass adjustments I saw how awesome it can look in BW, so I did one of those too. I agree there's some tone issues. There's the really bright stripe cutting across the left side of the image, and the bug is fairly dark. One of the first things I did was balance the image a little by brightening up the right side. I spent a lot of time trying to tame that pink, especially the cast it dropped on the bug. I'm not sure how effective I was.
