Damn that's some great stuff. Great set up he has to. I was happy with my 125 ETX, until I saw your Meade Jab. Is that an LX200?

Check out these beauties. I know it's a government run Observatory but the images are still truly amazing.

those are great.... i lost that link a while back ago...thanks for sharing it....

No I wish I had the LX200 GPS....but my scope is an LX90. Its got the same optics as the LX200, but not as accurate for tracking objects. It was also with in my budget.

also I forgot to mention that www.scopetronics.com makes an eyepiece that will work with your coolpix 995

Never seen that attachment? I got the Scopetronix Digi-T adapter for my 995. I think it does the same thing, no? I noticed your using the Max View.......I think that's what it called. How's that working for ya? Is that the same as the Cool Pix Eyepiece. It look heavy duty.

I wanted to pick up the LX90, but I'm not in that league yet. Mabey one day. Right now I live next to a light polluted city (Toronto). So there is no point anyway.

the digi-t is just as good...this other one eliminated the adapter.

The maxview 40 is working pretty good and its a very sturdy eyepiece. but i was informed by a guy this past saturday that the inside of the eyepiece barrel is painted GLOSS black...not flat black as is should be to eliminate light reflections. he has a 40mm eyepiece from scopetronice similar to the maxview40, but with out the threads.

The LX90 is a bit much for me since im very new to astronomy and still have a lot to learn...and i have to look through the aurora commerciallias( big city light polution) in Houston.

But I can always grow into the scope. I was able to spot the Eskimo nebula (ngc-2392) with a little help from a more experienced person

Ngc-2392, now that's impressive. I tried looking for that last summer. Could'nt find it. I saw (m51) the ring nebula (it was a dark blue ring almost purple), and a bunch of messier globular star clusters. They were nice but they looked more like a blury cloud rather than a globular star cluster. The same goes for the Dumb Bell Nebula and the wild duck , no colour just a white whisp. The best was an NGC object, can't remember the name but it was a dual spiral star cluster, in the east somewhere. I must of looked at that for at least 1/2 hour straight In amazment. Hundreds of nice blueish stars. A perfect back drop for Star Wars or something like that.

hehe..i got that from the guys in my astronomy club....they also call it the Houston Nebula....

the eskimo was VERY faint in my scope...i wanted to bump up the power but i was afraid I would lose it so I just stuck with the 26mm eyepiece

I have yet to view the ring nebula from my scope.....i just can find it :( I have looked at it may times through other scopes...but it has eluded me so far with my scope....as well as the other objects you just mentioned.
