A shot that I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to take earlier this year. After shooting distant orcas and humpbacks for two hours, finger frozen to the shutter button and with a dripping wet camera and self, I went back inside to the warmth of our little Alaskan sight seeing boat. As the engines rumbled and we began to get underway, I asked the guide "Do whales ever come right up to the ship?" Before she could finish saying "Well, someti...", this humpback whale did just that.
