attended school for photography here?? what was your experience with it? I'm attending school now, atleast for the winter quarter, and I was curious if any of you have too! If you remember what was your homework like?
I didn't, but folks in my photo group had. They were less than pleased with the way the photography department is integrated into the larger fine arts school. Specifically, their first two years had lots of art general art history and zero photography, which quickly discouraged them.
Not trying to say that's the case everywhere, but at Colorado State University, it apparently is.
taking a beginning class when you are self taught is difficult to really pay attention to. but i get to go shoot at pike place market in seattle next week at night. soooo the class isn't all that bad :)
I did. 2 1/2 year (once every 2 weeks), enjoyed it very much, learned a lot! Finished in November last year. Homework was sometimes fun, sometimes boring, but I guess that's school :)
Here's a snap of me and my "end" work
Although it was a professional education, I'm still an amateur. Guess I like my current job too much.
Grey card on occasion. Sometimes I use one that is purposefully not grey. If I used one more, I'd get one of these.
Don't use a light meter yet. I use CLS a lot, so I can control all my ratios from the camera when I do, so it's almost more work to use one. That said, I also don't try to reproduce lighting setups. If I did, then I'd definitely use a lightmeter.
