How do I take and PP a photo like this one:
//1x.com/photo/42557/ Is the fog real or PP'd? Are the selective horizontal and vertical blurs real or PP'd?
Is having fog/mist mixed in with sun the best way to capture the natural light?
Any links to good tutorials on articles on this subject? I'd like to learn how to capture light.
The blur of the buildings is fake, but was probably slightly evident in the original exposure. You can tell it's fake if you look at the dock area middle left. Part of the blur overlaps the dock. This is an error in editing. There is also nothing in that area to cause the same reflection of the buildings. This is another scene error.
This was most likely originally a long exposure. There's a boat in the far right under the bridge that looks as if there's a ghost of it behind it, which would happen if the boat was moving during the exposure. The fog would probably be better picked up during a long exposure as well but is likely fake. The color in the image is most likely tweaked to achieve the yellow/gold tones. There has absolutely been extensive dodging and burning, especially in areas of the water.
