First of all - love this challenge topic... it's been lots of fun. I've got a question on the special rule, which says "You may optionally combine up to 5 unique captures in a non-overlapping sequence (think polyptych)."
Are there any guidelines or restrictions on how the panels are stitched together? Do they have to be in a row? If you use five images, then they'd have to be an average of 160 pixels wide minus borders to fit into the maximum image size of 800 x 800. Or is the composite image allowed to be larger for a polyptych?
OK, great thanks. Are there any rules governing how the images are "panelled", such as the types of borders that may be used to separate the images? One of the threads mentions "like a cartoon", but comics/cartoons can get pretty fancy with how the "storyboard" is presented... again, just checking to make sure I won't get DQ'ed for creative assembly of the up-to-five images...
I plan to use solid borders. I interpreted the "like a cartoon" comment to refer only to the idea of having a short series of pictures telling a story, not to the actual appearance of the image.
Thanks for the tip. Are there any rules governing the "background"? Let's say I decide to have my panels crooked with a significant gap between them... suddenly, there needs to be a background. Does this have to be black? White? Can it be a texture?
Is there any way I can get the SC to preview my entry before submitting? I've put heaps of effort in and I'd hate to get DQ'ed on a technicality :-O
