Do you find that picture titles in foreign languages negatively affect the score you give to the picture?
For example, in the Song Title language there is a picture (not mine) with the title "En el mar la vida es más sabrosa", which in spanish means "Life is richer at the sea", an old popular mexican song.
Do you feel the title detracts from your score if you can't translate it?
I sometimes use the AltaVista Babel-Fish translator to put my photo titles into Spanish. Kinda adds a nice flair to some ordinary titles. I have a photo titled " Petalos Del Fuego" which sounds alot better than "Petals of Fire". :)

There is one picture in the New Year challenge titled "Akemashita Omedetou Gozaimasu", this means Happy New Year in Japanese. It isn`t mine, so I thought I would add the translation.
My only problem with a title in a different language is I cannot tell how it relates to the title especially in a competition such as song titles. I guess I never thought to look for a translator in the net.
foreign language depends a lot on your mother tongue and country of birth. most titles here (including all the ones for my own photos) are in a foreign language to me. so are these forums ... :)

I would say it could be nice, just be carefull if it had to convey something. But somehow , you cannot expect evverybody to go to babelfish to translate the title so ... it has pros and cons I guess.
My first language is French, so I embrace other languages. I use Alta Vista to translate anyting I feel is worth translating. As I see it, this is an intenational site.

I don't mind it but either way you shouldn't have started this thread by talking about a specific photo in a current challenge.
