The motion blur challenge is the third challenge that I could have entered since receiving my gift. I though I had all setting correct and when I got home I noticed the ISO setting was on 1600. Not good for motion blue with the noise. I'm going outside to see if I can come up with something before midnight. I guess the time off has made me rusty. But I'm loving taking pictures. Thanks everyone!
Don't feel bad. I get home and find I had a wrong setting on some parameter all of the time. Usually it's something left over from a previous shooting session where I did not set everything back to my normal defaults before starting something new.
I went out today for an hour to shoot for the Motion blur challenge, and did not come back with a single shot that would score above a 4.
Its not just you ;-)
I know what you mean, I was out about 1-1/2 but I did find something that caught my eye when view through the photographs. It may not be what the voters want but it struck a cord with me, so I entered.
I'm right there with you SDW This is my first challenge since July... Although I visit everyday, I haven't had time to enter... In fact, I haven't had much time to shoot at all because I have an 11 month old, and I'm kind of a Mr. Mom with a full time job. When I do shoot, I have been shooting him, and let's face it, I've taking off the Daddy goggles :)... So anyway, I got out and shot today for the Motion Blur challenge. I'll be happy to score in the 5 to 5.5 range. I definitely need to shake off the rust too... Best of luck
We were bowling with one of our air cannons Saturday afternoon, and I never once though to shoot a lower shutter speed shot. The video looks great and has blur, but video grabs are not legal for challenge shots.
LOL! It took me forever to get into the habit of checking EVERYTHING (card, battery, settings, lens/camera clean) before a shoot. I'm just happy you're out playing with your new toy!
Ah... can't be worse than coming back home from a shooting (lots of them) and realizing there is no memory card in the slot! Happened to me twice, and lesson learned badly. Turned off that option and never looked back.
Having something in the card is better than having no card in the memory slot :-\
