...my fabulous extended DPC family. Though I have only met a handful of you, I feel like you're all my crazy cousins, aunts, and uncles. Blessings to you all this Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful that, as your crazy cousin, I can just show up at your big dinner tomorrow night. ;-)
I'm also thankful for the friendships I have with most of you, and for the angst I have for some of you. :D

Dibs on being the crazy uncle that sits over in the corner, and mumbles to himself by the hour. Who when you ask him what he is saying says, "What? I didn't say anything, what did you hear?"
ETA: I am thankful all those of you who encourage me, and vote above 5 on my images. I adore those of you who leave constructive comments, helpful hints, and make my image a favorite. I worship the ground you walk on, for those who vote me a 10, or give me an award. or let me play on a team with you.
I am thankful for the blessing I have received this year, so many and none deserved. My family is my life and I love them all. In addition, to my DPC Friends, you have been there when I been lonely, you have been there when I've been depressed, you have been there when I cried, and you have been there when I smiled. You have never let me down. For that, I love all of you!

I'm okay being a crazy cousin ... but please don't make me sit at the little kids table for thanksgiving dinner. I love the food but I want to sit with the grown-ups.
@Scott - Words fail me when I think of all you've contributed to the site. I am thankful - for you - and your labor of love here.
I'm also very thankful for Langdon and Drewmedia, along with the Site Council (both former and current) for the creation and continued existence of DPC. It is often a less than thankless task they perform. I know I've cast my share of stones.
Today, however, I just want to say a heartfelt Thank You. Thank You for the opportunity to compete with, and learn from, some truly amazing photographers. Thank You for the opportunity to get honest feedback on my images. It's been a great nine years, and I am hopeful for nine more.
I am thankful for my new job, the support that my family and friends have given me over the last 2 years, and the massive turkey and ham that we will consuming soon...
I'm thankful that I'm English and don't have to cook a massive meal tonight lol. But on the flipside I don't get to eat it either so maybe I'm not thankful. Oh I don't know lol!!!! Happy thanks giving across the pond
I'm thankful that my 17 year old son has been living with me full time since he was five years old despite me not officially having custody of him. He is growing up to be a fine young man and my goal of helping him to build a foundation upon which he can lead a happy life seems to be a goal that I am achieving.
His mother let go of him within 6 months of me quitting my well paying job as an air traffic controller and I could no longer pay the full amount of the exorbitant child support that was ordered. With me, he is growing up happy, popular, well rounded, and extremely successful in his academic endeavors. With an adjusted grade point average of 5.9 (will probably end up higher) and SAT scores that are super high, he is applying to colleges such as Harvard, Stanford, Rice, and his first choice of Duke University.
I am so proud of him and so extremely thankful to have been able to be the significant part of his life that I always wanted to be. There was a period of hell that I went through, a time that I believed that my involvement in his life would be very limited. I am so thankful that, despite receiving no assistance from his mother and finances being up and down for years, he and I have been able to be together for the last 12 years.
I am thankful that my two kids in college are back home for a bit. Things are going well now, but by Sunday I may be thankful they are going back. I am thankful for my wife that has been working hard on a wonderful meal (I've been helping, but still...) I am thankful for too many other things to list. I am truly blessed. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I am thankful for a new full time job.
I am thankful for my successful cancer surgery
I am thankful for my wife's successful back surgery
I am thankful for my wife's successful rotator cuff surgery
I am thankful for good health insurance.
I am thankful for my first child starting college
I am thankful for my 2nd child getting into college (will start in the Fall)
I am thankful for pre-paid college plans.
This is quite an unusual Thanksgiving for me. My dog is on her 63-64 day of pregnancy and could have her puppies anytime. We thought she would have them before now but she didn't, so I sent my 3 girls and husband to their Grandmas and I am staying home with the our dog. I have baked myself a pumpkin pie and hope to not eat the whole thing by myself. :)
I am very Thankful for my family, but it actually is kind of nice to have some time to myself. As a mother of three girls I rarely have any me time. So this Thanksgiving I am thankful for the 2 days of me time I am unexpectedly getting, and I hope my husband survives being Mr. mom for a couple days without me. He has two grandmas and several aunts who are more than willing babysitters to my girls if he needs any help.
Now to just get these puppies here, any advice? I plan on calling the vet tomorrow if they don't show up sometime today.
