So I have this shiny new MacBook Pro to replace my four year old MBP. I have installed CS5 on the new computer as well as all the plug-ins I am licensed for and want to switch the licensing over to it. So I need to deactivate the plug-ins on my old computer first (also have them on a desktop). OnOne had good info on their site about how to deactivate their products, so no problem there. But I had to email Topaz for instructions that arrived promptly, but they told me to just delete the plug-ins from the application library on my old computer before activating the new one. This doesn't make sense to me as how are they going to know I quit using them on the old computer? Anyone know the right way to deactivate Topaz products? And two days later I am still waiting to here from Nik, anyone know how to deactivate there products?
Do what they said, works fine for me. I've migrated them through 3 computers no problem, with them on 2 at one time. Don't ask me why it makes sense, but it works fine.

Thanks much Robert, the reason I need to deactivate is I also have them installed on another Mac at work.
So are you saying this is the way to deactivate Topaz plug-ins, and the ones from Nik as well? I trust that is the right thing to do with Topaz but I'm apprehensive about removing Nik in case there is some official deactivate protocol that I would not be able to initiate if the software is uninstalled. I'm sure I could eventually get things made right regardless, but that could take a long time possibly- especially when I can't get them to respond to my email request for days...
when I upgraded my iMac earlier this year, I just re-entered the original activation codes when I installed the Nik plugins, I don't recall having a problem. And exactly the same for Topaz. It was far easier and much less hassle than CS5
I did remove CS3 and CS5, so that probably took care of the removal of those plugins from the old iMac. But I have both Topaz and Nik on both my iMac and MacBook Pro and there wasn't a problem.
Nik Software has an uninstall utility with each plugin. You can go to the Nik site and log in to your account. Then download again the plugin. Along with the install utility, you'll see the uninstall feature.

Correct; I'd add that the uninstall utility is stored in the folder with each of my plugins. I have assumed the utility communicates with Nik during the uninstall process.
I have most of the plug-ins transferred to the new computer now. What a hassle! So many numbers and letters to input for each plug-in, and no way to copy and paste that I could find!
My only problem now is that my Nik Color Efex license is for version 3 and I downloaded version 4. Nik already has enough of my money and they want $99 to upgrade to version 4! I guess I will use it until it expires and then install version 3 until they send me an offer for a sweeter price to upgrade (seems they do this once in a while).
I've run my Topaz through about six times adding it to CS2 (My original app), and PSE 8, 9, & 10. I currently have it on four computers and a number of IP addresses....
All I did each time was download it and use my original license key.
