I've got a couple outtakes from my self-portraiting session. Self-portraits are something I get into particularly (since I like portraits but don't usually have the guts to ask someone to pose for me) so any feedback would be awesome. I almost submitted the third one, but I think I was better off with the one I picked.
Hey danny... please don't say that. I added your portrait shot to my rather short collection of favorites. It was a brilliant shot and I'm disappointed that so many people seemed to think that expressing apathy was the same as not expressing anything at all. There were plenty of traditional shots in last week's challenge.. shots like yours are the ones that I can still picture freshly in my mind without checking the original, unlike many of the images which, while nicely executed shots with a lot of technical merit, have already faded into the pile of generic portraits in my mind.
Your outtakes aren't bad, but I don't doubt I'll be going back to look at the shot you submitted more than once in the future.
i like the 3rd one. the deep shadows are visually interesting to me. they add an air of mystery and mood.

Thanks! You've made my morning. And thanks for adding it to your favorites. You are right, the voters didn't 'feel' the same thing in it as you and I. I doubt I'll change my style of shooting. I prefer to express myself in my work and sometimes, the DPC voters just don't agree with what I see, this weeks Song Title challenge is no exception ;-)

i dont know if it's about 'traditional' vs 'non-traditional'. I just think without any context, there would be no way for anyone to tell that the expression on your model's face was purposeful or if she simply just an unwilling, bored subject.
The title didn't really speak to the 'teen apathy' aspect of it, so you can't blame people for assuming the latter.

The title 'I Shadow' is referring to teens who think only about themselves. I this, I that. Shadow refers to the obvious, black and white nature of the photograph. But, I Shadow also is to bring your focus to her eyes, and most girls at her age start wearing real eye shadow.
Ok, maybe I'm off my nut!
