This Thanksgiving Caden and I are going to build a couple skating longboards with Caden's grandpa as a little project to work on (imagine a 9"x40" skateboard shaped almost like a surfboard). I have a friend in the graphics business who could print up some wraps for them and that got me thinking about some cool graphics. Because I don't want to just go online and rip something off, I'm stuck creating my own. I am NOT an artist. :) This leaves me with a few ideas of how to proceed:
1) Find a photo of my own or something in the creative commons area and tweak/filter it into something interesting.
2) Use components of famous paintings (probably cooler for my own board, Caden may not dig that as much).
3) Use a workable pattern like tribal designs or celtic knots.
Anybody have any other cool ideas? We're both excited about the project even though neither of us are boarders (as of yet). |
