Well I for one am going to photograph an apple on top of the 12ft marble statue I carved of Jobs in front of the Apple temple I built in the back yard where I burn iOfferings.

is it Apple, or apple a tribute to steve jobs, so an apple hanging from a tree or and apple hanging from a tree with a bite out of it al a alan turing...
so my question is it specifically a tribute to jobs which is how i took it or is it going to be fruit bowls of apples etc, apples in a bucket etc?

Yup. All of the above. The challenge is a tribute, but the photographs don't need to be a tribute. They just have to be either about the fruit (apple) or the company (apple)
