Very nice work and yes, I think just the sort of thing that Expert Editing will bring out. There will be some straight up portraits too but a well done needed-expert- editing-to-create-it entry will win out I suspect.
Lol, what is with all of these exclusive either/or challenges this week. Very strange.
I am a tiny bit disappointed that its Expert editing, makes it a lot harder for me to score well because I am aweful at fancy photoshop stuff.
Still, I do have some ideas floating around

Gosh, I hope not! Kind of a wasted challenge for using the Expert ruleset. Perhaps it will give more flexibility to swap out backgrounds and things like that, but really, a portrait is a portrait. Wacko stuff like this will get a very low vote from me.

A hand placed on a neck is a photography portrait?! Great fun for Worth1000 or something (digital art and all that), but not something I'd consider a real portrait photo.
It was suggested to me a few days ago that I ought to bring back the shoehorn awards for humorous entries. I think this challenge is the perfect time to reintroduce them.
You need to go hand out some for the "TimeIII" challenge. I made some funny ass comments if I do say so myself !

But yes, some people don't like expert editing and would prefer seeing 'normal' portraits. Some will use expert editing in ways which don't look "expert" at all. If you like the subject of the challenge and want to shoot for it, please do so!

The rule about graphic and cliparts is about stuff you didn't create yourself, such as downloaded brushes or stock images. As long as you create it by yourself (within the challenge dates of course), you are ok. In fact, some entries in previous expert editing challenges contain major parts that have been totally computer generated. It's ok by the rules, but the Truth beholders will vote such entry low ;)

I submitted a basic edited portrait into the last Expert edit challenge and scored a 5.7, and also got a comment asking why I didn't do expert editing.
I mean, 5.7 isn't a super amazing score or anything, but its not like it got hammered either
