opening jpg in cs5??? - DPChallenge Forums

I'm wondering what am I doing wrong?

When I open the existing jpg using "bridge" in cs5 image looks like I boosted saturation to the point it's not usable.
I think problem is in the settings.

Any ideas?

First I would try holding ctrl+alt+shift while opening bridge, then open photoshop the same way. Holding those keys while launching the program will reset the preferences. Then try opening jpg again.

Thx for the suggestion, but it did not make a change.

I have no problem opening NEF. This only effects Jpg.

Does this jpg have any develop settings? NEF likely is opening in camera raw first, right? If the jpg is too, it might have develop settings. Right click from inside bridge, click develop settings and click clear settings.

Also, what happens if you don't open the jpg from inside bridge, but from windows explorer? Same thing?

I use Mac..
so if I process an image and save it "for Web" it becomes a Jpg.. if I open it with "preview" (same as windows explorer?) it looks just like it did when I created it... I tested with multiple images, and tried changing settings before opening from bridge to CS...no luck

In Bridge preferences, go to Output and make sure "Preserve Embedded Color Profile" is checked.
