i used them for books before i found blurb...
i still use them for things that don't matter, especially when they have deals on small stuff (like their pocketbook and mini-book).
one of the reasons i prefer blurb is their longtime support of pdf-to-book, which gives me the ability to design once and then publish on numerous platforms.
as for quality, it was ok, but not anywhere near the premium stuff (you really do get what you pay for). i also found their customer service very lacking. the last time i used them for anything that mattered (about five years ago), i had a problem that took extraordinary effort to get someone on the phone to get things resolved. i decided then that i would only use them for things where i could afford to lose the money if things didn't turn out, that it was too much hassle to deal with them, regardless of how low their prices might be...they may have improved, but i'm happy enough with my other options to risk a major project on them.
