How the heck does she get those bright, vivid, clear colors in that unique style without blowing out the colors? (If you know what I'm asking better than I do, go ahead and rephrase) I can't get enough of it. Any thoughts? I'm pretty sure she uses a Mark II with a 24-105mm lens. (I only have a T2i, but I am hopeful I can achieve something similar--I'm guessing it's mostly the post-processing that I like so much). When I see photos like these, it just makes me mad (because I can't do it). Haha.

Gee, I don't know if it's my monitor, eyes, or what, but the pictures I saw there seemed a bit flat, muted, maybe even under-saturated.
Perhaps you can post a link to an unprocessed image of your own, and see if people can offer suggestions for post-processing which come closer to your vision than you've been able to achieve up to now.
Usually if I'm trying to make colors "bright, vivid, and clear" I'll apply a Curves adjustment layer (in Photoshop) to enhance mid-tone contrast and detail (classic "S-Curve" shape), sometimes a separate Curves adjustment to one or more of the individual color channels (usually the Blue), and finally apply "high-radius UnSharp Mask" which seems to boost the contrast and "clarity" of the image (especially landscapes); on a DPC entry-sized image apply the UnSharp Mask filter with settings approximately like:
Amt: 15%
Diameter: 50 pixels
Threshold: 0

I looked through some of her stuff, and I also like what she does with color. I don't think it's really anything in particular, other than she uses reduced exposure in some areas of the images to give greater perceived saturation than what might be there. She is not amping up the saturation at all, IMO. But she knows what she is doing. I really like what she does with color.
Haha! Thanks for responding guys. That's part of my problem is I can't put my finger on what she's done. You're right GeneralE, the pictures are muted. And thanks for that excellent article (really). The colors in her pictures are more vivid than real life (before they were then muted). It's like she boosts the vibrancy of the colors, then subdues portions of the picture to different degrees. Maybe she just subtly adjusts vibrancy. I don't know. :)
