Anybody else using Nik's Snapseed for the iPad. Just got myself an Olympus EPL1 for my birthday and with the iPad, this software and the camera connection kit I seem to have a portable powerhouse.
I would HIGHLY recommend this software.
Now, if only I could find a way to get my edited images onto DPC without the use of an intermediary computer...
Yea, that was good news! The ipad2 camera is largely useless, so I was emailing iphone4 shots to myself just to get them on the ipad for snapseed mods. This will be much better. Probably will allow a lot more users to take advantage of it. It just wasn't that helpful on the ipad, but I do a alot of shoot, retouch and post right on my iphone, and now snapseed can be a workflow option.
This can't be a good workflow for print. I assume this is just for sharing stuff online?
it is sort of a nik Viveza plus some ColorEfx and SilverEfx stuff in an iphone/ipad app. Some iphone shots can print pretty well, some not. This is for retouching directly on the devices--having it now available on the iphone, which has the better camera, is a big help as opposed to ipad only. Though, one can load images from a separate camera onto the ipad and retouch them there, too.
Iris actually provides layer and masking capability on the iphone, ipad.
Maybe one of these days I'll load an image right from my dslr sd card, do a full set of post just on the ipad. interesting experiment.

Though I'm not completely sure of the technical details, I believe that part would require some coding on Langdon's part. I could be wrong.
I think it could be done allowing devices to email images directly to our profile accounts. We could then add them from there. I know of educational applications where students use iPhone and iPod Touches to upload media to their e-portfolios. They email them directly to a section of their e-portfolio and there they appear.
Did anybody notice you can now get Snapseed for the desktop? (Mac only currently, via the app store) According to Nik they are working on a Windows/Android version too.
I hadn't until you said but I'll definitely grab it. More than once I've round-tripped to my iPad to use it for an entry (normally to add textures for an Expert Editing challenge).

Use iCab Mobile as your iPad browser. Haven't done it in a few weeks but if I remember correctly you have to use the "classic uploader" on the DPC end.
Snapseed is currently FREE in the iTunes store instead of £2.99 (still a bargain). Looks like some really good software.
Yeah probably should have mentioned it was on iPad that it was free... also should mention UK store as I only just discovered the US and UK stores hold different items at different prices... I always figured the stock was the same and the price converted to GBP but seems you can't buy from US iTunes with a UK account and vice versa. Only just found that out when I was trying to get the E! Fashion Police App :-)
