How do you fade a pair of jeans. Can someone post a link or give me detailed and accurate directions on how to do it? I am only 15 but i was thinking someone on here could help me. Please, and thank you.
I found a couple of ideas...one is to use fine-grain sandpaper on areas you want to look faded. Another, from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, says to use a small cheese grater on specific areas. Still another place says to hang them in the sun for several days as the sun breaks down the fibers in the denim, allowing them to fade. My advice...go buy them already faded. This seems like a lot of trouble to go through! LOL ;o)
How about putting some bleach or peroxide in a spray bottle and giving the pants a few light mists, then leaving out in the sun? This method works for hair so I figure it oughta work on pants as well..

bleach and sun will work but don't put pure bleach on your jeans...it will eat a hole in them. best to dilute the bleach with water and spray it evenly over the fabric.
Is it just me, or...but I hate these faded jeans (almost always on women) that have that faded worn look along the backside that look as if they have been scooting around on their ass all day? Makes you wonder. I think it looks stupid. Mine use to get faded the good old fashioned way, doing good ol' manual labor out in the sun all day. I guess that would be too much to ask.
