When you say "same size" do you mean file size (i.e. 148k), or do you mean the display size (640x480)?
In any case, if you use Photoshop to manage your images, when you resize the image make sure you use the "Bicubic" settting in the Interpolation field.
When you save the file, make sure you save it as a JPEG... and use the highest quality setting possible (they are numbered from 1 to 10). If the file size just saved is over 150k, then save it again, but use a lower quality setting. If your version of Photoshop has a "Save for the Web" menu item underneath the File menu, then use that-- it'll let you preview your saved image, and view the file size (in Kbytes) before you save. |
