I was last year when i was living in Cardiff. Only caught a minute of it but it looked fun. I like wacky stuff like that. I guess you'd need a comfy saddle though!
Going to miss it this year though as i've moved house and won't be near.
I've got some friends convinced that I'm actually going to ride in it, and yes, you'd need a comfy saddle. I would probably go ahead and wear my padded bike shorts and just go topless.
When I lived in SLO, CA, there was a guy who went riding naked through downtown on a dare. The cops chased him and used their cruiser to crash, reportedly him giving him some serious road rash on his tender parts. OW!
I still do not understand what the purpose is. How is it possible they all don't get public indecency/nudity tickets? I know that the "naked pumpkin run" people all got busted in Boulder and (I think) still face charges, including having to report as sexual offenders. I am not even allowed to sit on my own property, naked, if viewable by the public...according to the law anyway. Haven't tested that. Besides, I am sure my neighbors do not want to witness it, as I do not want to see them. This goes the same for the participants in this. The vast majority, is someone you don't WANT to see naked in the first place.
Jeez, what a screwed up place Boulder sounds. In the UK i think most people take it as a bit of fun, like Carnival or something. It's not a big thing though and i guess most people haven't head of it. It's all cleared with the police and is not illegal as an event. There is a guy who keeps trying to walk the length of the UK naked though and keeps getting put in a cell for the night. The British like their eccentrics though.

In York, we get at least 100 cyclists taking part - some completely naked, others with shorts or knickers on. The police supervise it, and they mostly get a pretty warm reception. If I am at home I will be out with my camera.
There was one of these in Ottawa last year but I missed it.
The best I have seen photos of occured in Seattle. Beetle showed me some of the images she took and I truly was amazed at the body painting... to the point that I the nudity took a back seat to the "body paint costumes" that people had devised for the occasion. It truly was remarkable.

And I used to think Boulder was a fun/cool place...guess that's not the case anymore.
