I've just ordered a Lensmate adapter for my G2(major excitment). Now the next question FILTERS. I know roughly what I want a UV filter, polarizer and macro set to start with. I just dont know which brand. I've searched the web for reviews etc, and am still no wiser as to who makes the best products. If anyone can give me their opinion on the brand/s that they have used it would be greatly appreciated:)
I've started a small collection of 37mm tiffen filters for my dsc-s50, but I've yet to find a suitable case for them. They're so small that they bounce around unacceptably in a regular-sized one. The best the shop can suggest is a compact flash card case, but I've only found soft ones. Anyone have any ideas? I knopw that Sony makes filters (for a pretty price) and they come with cases, but I'm not sure if you can get the cases alone. It's nice to be able to carry at least a basic compliment of them around. I'm perhaps going to try a coin shop next to see if they have anything that might hold 'em.

Here are a few ideas. For my longer focal length lenses, like my 500 mm or 1,000 mm catadioptric (mirror) lenses, Nikon also uses 37mm filters. They are inserted in the rear of the lens instead of on the front; just is case you were wondering. Nikon makes a great filter case that you may be able to order as stand-alone parts from their service department. They are perfect for the job and mine are five and ten years old and function like new.
Alternately, I thread several unused filters together into a stack and make use of a very small lens case normally meant for a wide-angle lens. I received the case for free from my local camera store retailer since it was used and held no resale value for them. As well, I use the cases that the filters came in when I purchased them. I hold several together with a rubber band. Simple ideas, but still rather effective.
