Since you know me as a fellow gadget freak, you won't be surprised to know that I have one of these. It has sat in a box for the last 18 months or so; not because it is rubbish - it's actually pretty good but access to my TV through other means has diminished my need for it. I used to use it to stream TV to laptops around the house and sometimes to access stuff abroad. The around the house thing is really sorted with the excellent on-demand Internet based services in the UK. For hotels away, I used to find that the performance was a little choppy and would now generally entertain myself via stuff I've bought/rented or moved into iTunes on my iPad or MBP.
(I do have truly uncapped bandwidth so didn't have to be careful with it). |
