I'll bet your Lancer would enjoy cutting loose a bit. If you always drive it like a grandma, the pistons won't travel enough and eventually can leave an unworn area. When someone does floor it, the pistons can hit past that area and break a block or something. I'm no mechanic, but I watched a mechanic explain it while pointing to an example.
