Brian bvy and I are itching to break out the Polaroids again. Please post your interest here. We can start in June, as film needs to be ordered, and some folks may want to start visiting the local pawn shops for a Polaroid. A Holgaroid is acceptable as well!
Glad to see some interest. I need to order film now. What jump started interest for me was the announcement of the new color film for the 600 cameras. And, actually, I still have one image left from last fall's pack. So let's see what happens.
Brian bvy and I had the thought that this should be ongoing thread. Contribute when you can. Post any instant film, Impossible, Fuji, expired Polaroid, etc. The film is the primary medium of interest for this thread. Any camera/format is acceptable; variety is encouraged! Polaroids, medium format backs, modified Holga/toy cameras, pinholes, etc.
Bottom line, consider this thread an adjunct to the film thread..

No worries, this is going to be an ongoing thread to accomodate the cost of film, shipping of film, desire to not waste frames, scanning, etc.
BTW, my mini van has plenty of room for a Polaroid! ;) Kids were made for instant film!
The new PX680 color Polaroid film is out from the Impossible Project. This film is for those of us with the 600 series cameras. I was ready to order some online as soon as it was announced, when I remembered that Impossible has a store in New York City. Knowing I'd be there in a few weeks (which was this past week), I decided to wait, save a few dollars on shipping, and see the store in person. It's a nice space, if small and very hidden. Huge Polaroid prints line the walls. I had to ask how you get a big print from a tiny one. Apparently the Polaroid images are photographed with a large format (4x5) film camera, the big negatives are scanned at high resolution, and digital prints are made from those. Pretty cool.

Hmmmmm. I inherited a Polaroid from a tenant who moved out, and I haven't even opened it yet. But I also want to make a DIY tilt shift. Except that it would be for my digital...
So, you just scan the polaroid and post it or do you start playing with it more?
Did anybody see the little booklet of Andrei Tarkowsky polaroid pics? If you never heard of Tarkowsky you might want to rent the movie "The Mirror" to start with.
As it relates to post-processing, you can think of these images as either perfect out of camera or totally beyond help. In either case, Photoshop ain't gonna add anything. Sometimes I white balance against the white border, but that's a corrective step.
We inherited a polaroid camera from my father-in-law, but Oh Dear! the price of film! Regretfully I won't be joining in, but I love what you guys are coming up with.
