In my riding, "cabinet minister" and local puppet of the Dear Leader Ms. Raitt is sure to win her seat back, unless some miracle happens. I voted my conscience for the first time ever in this riding, not worrying about vote splitting. It felt so good.
I was listening to Rex Murphy the other day, and apparently a third of voters are voting strategically. As he said, if that isn't an indictment of first past the post, nothing is. Only one leader is even talking about electoral reform, and dared bring it up during the debate.
The sad truth about this country is that we no longer have a Conservative Party. We have a centrist right, coupled with left, and and ultra left parties.
The social net has been transformed into a hammock, and everyone wants something for nothing.
If that's the case, I'll have ultra left, please, over centrist right.
The "centrist" in that right, by the way, only refers to fiscal conservatism, and certainly not social conservatism. I could swallow a conservative government in this country if not for all the rightist social baggage.

I'm angry. Very angry.
I probably need to step away from the internet, my phone, and any thing that puts me into contact with friends and family that I know voted conservative, or there's going to be blood this night.
It was broken in the same way when the Liberals won similar majorities in the past.
Meaning: It's still broken just not to your liking this time around.

Unfortunately, it will probably remain broken since PEI will never give up any seats as their 4 seats are part of the constitution. Rep by Pop would require them to give up some.
I could have lived with PC minority, not sure about a majority.
As I am certain many others could have. Take the time to thank the "Coalition" for an election that truly was not wanted nor warranted.

Now there is nothing requiring the Conservatives to cooperate with the Opposition, let alone the other parties. Not that they felt obligated even in minority. Just remember Ray -- 60% of Canada are unhappy with the result.
