I'm not clear on your question. DQ'd photos are not "deleted" except for those for which a "self-DQ" is requested, and that cannot be for a rules violation.
DQ`d photos go to the sinbin at the bottom of the pile.. Its the page most people check after checking out the top ten - we all go there to see who got DQ`d and see who came last..

My photo might be in violation of basic editing rules. DPC asked me for the original to be reviewed. So if it is in violation do they let you know prior to the results or do you find out if it was in violation after the challenge.

As I remember, you get an email notifying you of a DQ, and it is removed from the voting pool immediately.
I just took a look -- your photo is still in the evaluation/discussion/voting stage by the SC. Sometimes it can take a while, especially if the rule in question is one requiring a subjective judgement.
