You know I'm a huge black and white fan, but in this case I really can't decide which I like better. They look equally good to me, and there is nothing that compels me to choose one over the other in this case. Consider that a compliment because normally I only have to look for a second to decide.

Ok, I guess I would go with the color on this shot. Looking at them a bit closer I think the look in her eyes and face comes across subtly different.
Hard to explain, but I think she has a slightly softer look about her and radiates more in the color shot. The reflection off her lips in color make them seem a bit fuller and defined and the catch light and tones of her eyes make it a more inviting image.
B&W for me. Two reasons. First the eyes really dominate in the B/W and are the best feature in the photo. Second the skin tone just does not seem right in the color version but works in the B/W. Overall the impact of the B/W is greater for me.

It must be personal taste. I have a high end calibrated monitor and I liked the skin tone in the color image. It's just a difference of opinion and I wouldn't worry about it too much. If anything I would think the skin tone is a tad bit warmer than some people would like, but as soon as you cool it off even a little others will say that they like it, but wish her skin was a little warmer. LOL. Perhaps you can lower the warmth just a TAD...not too much and post another color version of the result to compare.

A bit pinkish and mottled in places, Mainly below the chin level on the neck and a bit of the left side of her face.

That's called shadow and highlights. It doesn't look mottled to me at all.
Glad you made a decision... I personally prefer the colour version as I do find it much warmer. Now if she was a much older person with all kinds of wrinkles and the like it would definitely go for the BW version.

The only thing I didn't like about the color version was the hair color as it related to the skin tone. The brown wasn't working for me.
