I went camping this weekend at Garner State Park in the Texas Hill country and found a Cicada I have never seen before. It looks exactly like the annual Cicada (not the 17 year one), but it was very tiny just over 1/4 inch from head to wing tips when the wings are folded against its body. Basically it was a Mini Cicada.
I dont have a pic of one as we found it at night, or it found us I should say, and Shannon would not let me keep it until morning so I could have some light to get a photo of it.
I tried looking it up on the web but after 50 cicada web sites I cant find a thing about this little guy.
Any ideas???
