just heard that my Shanghai photo received a Honorable Mention in the annual Pollux Awards competition run by the Worldwide Photography Gala Awards. It is only in one of many categories, namely non-pro Cityscape, so not such a huge deal, but still nice. They had almost 19000 entries overall, from 65 countries.
Thanks Brennan, but nah, I am not the first at all! it was 19,000 total submissions, in ~25 thematic categories, in 3 classes of photogs (pro, non-pro, and students). So altogether there were about, I am guessing, about 200-300 "awardees."
