I want to sell my camera and gear to buy a canon 5D mark ii

I want to put my stuff in my local news paper I just dont know how much to ask for,if any one can shed some light on what to ask it will be appreciated.

.Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
.Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
.Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro( older )
.Canon Speedlite 580EX II

all in mint condition and under a year old.

You probably have your reasons for doing that which I am curious to know why, but If you really want to get a 5D Mark II, have you considered maybe waiting a little longer until 5D Mark III comes out? No official release date has been announced by Canon yet, but it is expected to come out before the end of the year (rumors of course).

Anyway, back to your question ... do a quick search on ebay on those items and see how much they go for. This should give you a good idea how much your equipment is worth.

Why not keep the 50mm (I don't think you'll get much for it since it's cheap new anyways) and your flash? The macro is also L glass isn't it? Wouldn't you want that on your full-frame body?

I sold my Canon 7D on ebay for 1500USD. It was only 3 months old and everything was mint as well. I will add that the buyer tried to scam me, froze my transaction with Paypal etc. Unlike other horror stories, mine ended well. He claimed he never received it BUT I had all the proof he did. Paypal in Japan was quick to unfreeze everything.

Back to the topic at hand, I usually see what people are buying and selling on ebay to get a basic idea. As spiritualspatula said, Fred Miranda is a good place to see what the going rates are.

Why the move from 7D to 5Dm2?
