The results of the Free Study 2011-01 challenge have been recalculated, due to the disqualification of the former 1st place winner for adding a new feature, namely an excessive amount of motion blur. Congrats to our new top 5!
Bummer... As a sidenote, I'd been quite astonished at how the figure had stayed so danged still over what must have been quite a long exposure... Mystery explained, the motion blur was added in post.
about the DQ..
First I wasn't aware of the fact that small amount of blure is forbidden, I could have take the picture even in slower shutter speed (the strobes could freez the man easy..).
I think that in advanced editing the rules are a bit strange..you can't blur but you can dodge,burn,clone,etc.. funny rulls..

It's always a gauntlet if you want to push the processing.. Looks like you just went a bit too far, no biggie, thanks for pushing the limits, sorry about your DQ..

You can enhance existing elements or remove minor distractions in post-processing, but you can't create new things that were not part of the capture. "You may not use ANY editing technique to create new image area, objects or features (such as lens flare or motion) that didn’t already exist in your original capture(s)."
