"Hell and Back Again" is a movie about marines in Afghanistan that won Best Documentary at this year's Sundance. It was shot by a British photographer and filmmaker using a Canon 5D mark II, and other equipment like a Glidecam 2000 HD stabilizing arm. Here's the trailer. It looks fantastic.
