not sure if anyone knew it or not but Waddy Thompson MelonMusketeer is on the Science Channel on Junk Yard Wars it's from 2001. see if you can find it in your area...
This is where he got the name MelonMusketeer for the Pumpkin Chunker
Blast it...don't get the Science Channel to see it.
Have Discovery Channel and saw when it had the Pumkin' Chunkn' Competition that was hosted by the Mythbusters last year. Got me thinking that maybe Waddy had either competed or was in the crowd somewhere.
Oh, cool! I didn't know we had any real celebrities here anymore! Usually they turn pro and leave us. Interestingly, I just added Waddy to my list of favorites this morning. I admire his attitude and ingenuity.

that would be the understatement of the year...if you can try to find the show...it's really worth watching
Thanks Ja-9. I didn't even know about it.
For DPC'ers who are not able to get Science Channel here are a couple of links.
Junkyard Wars/ Missile Launchers Interview, for the die-hard JYW fans Tells how I got there, and some about shooting the show.
For CNovack ; W. C. Punkin Chunkin results, Y2K Our team took our air cannons, Melon Moleculizer and Spooky Bazookey to WCPC Y2K. M M placed 6th overall, Spooky B 17th overall using human power against the big guns, and top dog in the human powered class. Rocky and I built them at the same time. The M M is actually Rocky's machine, and Spooky Bazookey evolved over a couple of years of lunch napkin drawing and a couple of prototypes.
Impromtu interview, and Spooky B launching melons We will be launching with Spooky B for a party next month. They have a 1/2 mile open pasture and we can launch into the trees beyond the pasture with Spooky, our "party gun".

We have two "melon launches" planned at this time, one in a couple of weeks, and another in early April. This weekend I have a pit pass for the Swamp Buggy races at Naples.
Ja-9,The D7K just sort of appeared sometime around Nov 8th. I got the two lens kit, with the 18-105 VR and 55-300 VR2. I'm lovin' it so far because it has all the features that I wanted plus a lot of extras.
My grand niece was getting married, and I made a deal for the camera.
I will keep you posted about the date for the April melon launch if you and Rick would like to be there.
