thanks, so MUCH, for posting this. my kids and i have had an absolute ball with it tonight!! once we got the workflow down, it was like being on crack ;-)

A long while ago I was looking for a site that could make fonts from handwriting. There are a few, but they all require payment. Yourfonts was one - so I paid for one font because I wanted/needed it (though I was annoyed my punctuation marks didn't all come out<"¤">), and now they occasionally send an email. If you've opted in for their news update, you should get them too.
It's National Handwriting Day (I guess they should make that International...) on 23rd January again at www.yourfonts.com/. The code to use this year is CPN4NHD2012 to make your own fonts from your handwriting. I suggest downloading the forms now to get ready for the day.

My handwriting is AWFUL, so I doubt I'll bother, but thanks for sharing this, anyway.
I might go bat my eyelashes at RayEthier, his handwriting is very pretty .. maybe he can do a special one just for me :-)
Just another bump, because I remember something that might be useful for some people: there's a space on the form where you can sign your name. Imagine having a font which includes your own signature, just by typing ^. You could print it on your own images (as long as they're not dpchallenge entries ;-Þ).

I think their site may have crashed ... I kept reloading the "Upload" page and watched the queue whittle down to 11, then it suddenly jumped back to 60, and then to 151, and I haven't been able to get the page to reload fully since.
