I've had auto-darkening glasses for 3 years, and have been pretty pleased with them. The newer version darkens and lightens much more quickly than they used to; they also have a driving version( as  bvy mentioned) that darkens inside a vehicle. I also have trouble seeing the viewfinder meter, but that is the glasses themselves and not the tint.
Be forewarned that certain chemicals can etch / eat away this coating with time (solvents, paints, etc.) so keep an old pair of glasses around for such work. |
