The rule is more generous than the voters. I hope they try to learn the rules!
The voters had nothing to do with it -- just some SC members believing young asian women would actually dance around in a public park dangling bundles of two-foot slabs of processed meat ... :-(

Some? Those decisions were unanimous (except for you, of course).
As I understand it the voters should not be bothered about that, and SC will only be involved if my photo made it to Top 5. No danger of that happening any time soon! ;/
Actually, voters & non-voters can request validation on any image during the challenge. The top 5 is validated after the challenge is over....I do believe....

Well, they were completely unanimous because I don't vote on my own entries -- though I (obviously) still disagree.

You understand wrong. I have had images shift a full point in votes received before and after validation. In my experience the closer you sail towards a rule, the more voters will decide to vote you down because they believe you have violated a rule. Which is rather ironic since the rules clearly state that if they suspect a rule violation they are supposed to vote as if the image was legal, but report a suspected violation to the SC.
But don't let how the voters will react keep you from entering anything you like.
