I just saw Fight Club for the first time the other night and it, along with an ongoing rivalry with TrollMan in other venues, inspired me to start this ongoing side challenge. This is primarily an editing side challenge and it is really quite informal and quite simple - you find one other person to "battle with" and you take turns throwing "punches" - posting any image depicting the battle and using some reasonable facsimile of one or both of the participants faces. The scenes can come from anywhere - they can be from movie stills, cartoons, comics, your own photos, etc. This is intended to be an ongoing SC as long as there is participation, it can continue through 12/21/2012 when the world ends.
Rules of DPC Fight Club 1. Don't talk about Fight Club. (just had to have that in there) 3. Only two to a fight. Pick your opponent, decide privately who will throw down first and go for it, alternating posts (ok to have multiple battles going on and interspersing the battle images.
4. No voting, scoring or betting. There are no ribbons, trophies or champions.
5. The match is over whenever. Who cares.
7. When you post the image, you are also encouraged to include a caption (trash talk).
8. It's ok to comment or ask questions in this thread, but PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANY PREVIOUSLY POSTED IMAGES WHEN QUOTING A POST (keeps things cleaner).
9. NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH - THERE WILL BE BLOOD. (use the IGNORE THREAD feature if any of this bothers you)
10. Consistent themes are NOT required - you can be fighting Gladiators in one post and Aliens in the next.
11. Images don't have to be at all photo-realistic in regards to the participants, and they can be a composite of scenes. BE CREATIVE.
12. You should have at least 3 or more self-portraits in your portfolio for your opponent to use against you.
14. Post your opponent's username in EACH POST. (i.e. "vs. TrollMan")
15. Spectators and Participants are encouraged to comment on the posted images. (Anything is fine. i.e. "Great job!", "Kick his ass!", "I love that gaping chest wound.")
16. Project Mayhem rule applies as well. ("Don't ask questions") - Not in this thread, anyway. I think I have included enough detail to get this going.
As a side note, before you dismiss this as childish folly, ...ah nevermind. It is childish folly. Oh, but I should let you know that it is silliness like this that helped me develop and hone my photoshop skills and enabled me to do more serious work in photo editing.
