I took this couple portrait and am having a beast of a time doing something with the background - there was not much choice of where to shoot. I've tried blurring, cloning, darkening, lightening, and can't seem to get anything that works. Could sure use your wizardry, suggestions...
Ha! Did not even cross my mind. I get the impression they want something very clean and literal, rather than artsy. But I'm going to play with it and see if I can create something interesting for them. Thanks Ursual!
@ Bear - yeah, I'm not bothered by the bg, but they want it "cleaner". Maybe just toning down the beige square over the right shoulder. Or maybe blurring even more (it has been blurred already).
@ prashant - the square crop is great, although I'm not sure about not seeing their hands. But it's something to consider. I guess I'll give them a couple of options and see which they like best.
I love hands .. textured, young, old, hands tell us so much about a person .. or in this case, a couple. My favorite photo of my deceased mother is one of her hands .. lined, aged, veins bulging ... they are the hands I remember when I think of her ... I believe that if you talk with the couple and explain that photography is not only capturing light but capturing the expression/emotions that they will come to view your sensitive, loving photo as perfect in the context you captured it. Just my view of course.

I like this edit but am distracted by the bare legs and bits of shorts showing at the bottom and was thinking that cloning them out would look OK. Hope you don't mind my playing with your edit Senor_kasper! :-)
